Mental Health First Aid for Adults (Free Community Training)

Tri-City's Mental Health  is hosting a free Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for Adults training on Friday, February 9, 2024. This training will be held from 8:30 am-4:30 pm at the Tri-City MHSA Administrative Building located at 2001 N Garey Ave, Pomona, CA 91767.

Mental Health First Aid (MHSA) for teaches you how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial support, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care, using a 5-step Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE). Participants will learn:

        • How to identify signs, symptoms and risk factors of mental health and substance use conditions
        • Information on anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosis and substance use
        • A 5-step action plan on how to assist someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations

This training is free and open to the general public, service providers, community groups, and organizations in Pomona, Claremont and La Verne.
