The Power of Trauma-Informed Care | ACEs Aware Supplemental Training for Providers
Thursday, November 18, 2021 | 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Research shows that toxic stress and trauma in childhood can increase risk for some of the most common and serious health conditions facing our society today. But there is hope - the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and toxc stress are treatable. The earlier we can identify that an individual is experiencing ACEs and toxic stress, the sooner children, adults and families can be connected to the resources and services they need to heal.
This free training, provided through the statewide ACEs Aware supplemental training grant, aims to enhance provider insight about ACEs. Providers will learn how screening for ACEs, assessing risk for toxic stress and responding with trauma-informed care can help inform patient treatment. We can work together to heal the negative impacts of ACEs and toxic stress.
Who should attend: This training is open to primary care, pediatric, health care and behavioral health providers.
