Dear Tri-City Clients, Stakeholders, and Community Members:

It is with mixed emotions that I write to you as I prepare to embark on a new chapter in my career. After much careful consideration and sixteen years with Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA), I have decided to pursue a new direction and have accepted the position of Chief Deputy Director for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. While I am excited about this new opportunity, I am also filled with deep gratitude as I bid farewell to my role as Executive Director of this incredible agency. The experiences and knowledge I have gained at TCMHA will undoubtedly inform and enrich my work in this new capacity.

As I reflect on my time at TCMHA, please know I am overwhelmed by the tremendous support, guidance, and encouragement I have received from each of you. Over the years, I have had the immense honor of serving and working alongside some of the most dedicated and compassionate individuals I have ever known as partners in this journey. I have learned a great deal from my colleagues and had the privilege of working on incredible projects to promote hope, wellness, and community across Claremont, La Verne, and Pomona. I will carry the memories of our shared achievements with me throughout my career. It has been an honor to witness the positive impact we’ve made on countless lives throughout our three diverse cities.

On July 10, 2024, a special Governing Board meeting voted unanimously to appoint TCMHA’s current Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Diana Acosta, to serve as Interim Executive Director, effective July 27, 2024, until the position is filled permanently. Diana possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to serve as TCMHA's Interim Executive Director. Her many years of experience, steadfast commitment, advocacy, and dedication to TCMHA will allow her to seamlessly fill this important position while the Governing Board seeks a new Executive Director.

As we transition to this new chapter, I am confident Diana will provide supportive leadership to the agency and to our community during this period. I am excited about what the future holds and the opportunities for positive change that lie ahead. I have no doubt that TCMHA will continue to thrive and make a lasting impact under new leadership.

In closing, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our communities and staff for giving me the opportunity to be the Executive Director of this remarkable agency. From the bottom of my heart, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our staff, partners, and the entire TCMHA community for your dedication to advancing the collective mental health and well-being of our three cities. I look forward to continuing our collaboration and partnership in new and meaningful ways. I believe that together, we can accomplish even greater things in building a community where every person is healthy, connected, and thriving.

With heartfelt appreciation and warm regards,

Rimmi Hundal
