Tri-City Mental Health announces the launch of Be a Voice for Change, a new community awareness campaign aimed at encouraging residents of Claremont, La Verne and Pomona to get involved in activities that strengthen mental health and wellness across the region.
At the heart of the bilingual campaign is to help people understand they can play a role in improving community mental health—and that collective action can lead to meaningful change. Through public input at meetings, events, and educational opportunities, Be a Voice for Change invites community members to speak up, get involved, and help shape a healthier, more supportive environment for all.
"Taking a collaborative approach to the mental health of our communities is a powerful way to make a change," said Ontson Placide, Executive Director of Tri-City Mental Health. "This campaign is about lifting every voice—whether you're a person living with lived experience, a caregiver, a service provider, or just someone interested in mental health, you can be a voice for change.”
For over 60 years, Tri-City Mental Health has been helping residents of Claremont, La Verne, and Pomona take care of their mental health needs. As a trusted community partner, they work closely with individuals and families experiencing mental health challenges by offering a wide range of supportive services with the goal of building stronger, healthier communities. As part of the Be a Voice for Change campaign and the statewide Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) transformation, Tri-City is launching a community group in July. Applications are being accepted until June 27, 2024.
"Our newly formed Together for Change group gives people the opportunity to share valuable feedback to help shape how programs and services related to mental health, substance use, and housing will be designed for our communities in the coming years,” said Paulina Ale, MHSA Program Coordinator-Innovation. "Anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Claremont, La Verne or Pomona can apply to become a member. Participants are required to attend one monthly meeting for one year and will receive a stipend for their time.”
