Tri-City Mental Health Authority is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2026–27 Community Wellbeing Grant. This grant supports local groups and community organizations in Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne who are working to strengthen the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of their communities. Each year, community organizations bring creativity, compassion, and cultural knowledge to their work, and this program is designed to help those efforts grow.

A Focus on Early Support

This year’s grant cycle highlights the importance of Early Intervention. The Community Wellbeing Grant Program is funded through the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA), which encourages communities to recognize early signs of behavioral health needs and help people access support as soon as possible. Early intervention can make a meaningful difference by reducing stress, preventing challenges from escalating, and helping individuals feel supported before a behavioral health challenge becomes more serious.

To align with this focus, funded projects must include outreach, access and linkage to care, or Early Intervention services. Programs should also prioritize children, youth, and young adults ages 0–25, as well as underserved communities who may face barriers to care and supportive services.

What the Grant Provides

Selected groups may receive up to $25,000 to support a project that enhances mental and emotional wellbeing. In addition to funding, Tri-City offers guidance from staff, technical assistance to help evaluate project impact, opportunities to connect with other local organizations, and access to behavioral health and trauma‑informed trainings.

The goal is to help communities build sustainable projects that reflect their strengths and address the needs of their members.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must be community‑based organizations serving children, youth, transition‑age youth, and underserved communities within Pomona, Claremont, or La Verne.

Tri-City can contract with 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Groups without non-profit status must partner with a qualified fiscal sponsor, who will manage grant funds, sign the contract, and complete all required financial reporting. Applicants must also identify a leadership team that includes a Community Leader, Project Leader, and Fiscal Sponsor. At least two people must be actively involved, and it is recommended that each role be filled by a different individual. Grant funds cannot be used for administrative expenses, including staff salaries or stipends for paid staff time.
